These cognac apron-toe loafers combine oily pull-up leather with a rounded toe and contrast stitching. The clean vamp keeps the warm leather finish in view, while the slim leather sole and layered heel give them a dressier profile for chinos, linen trousers and relaxed tailoring.

How these cognac apron-toe loafers fit
The rounded forepart and stitched apron define the outline of this loafer. As a closed-back slip-on, it relies on the shape of the vamp and heel to hold your foot comfortably. Check that your toes have room and the upper holds across the instep without painful pressure. The visible toe shape alone does not establish the internal width.
Measure both feet and choose length and width together, using the socks you plan to wear. If your usual loafers slip at the heel or press across the instep, tell us where before production. The current selector uses US sizes 6–15, including half sizes, and D, E, EE and EEE widths; we can also help you order using another sizing system.

An apron-toe loafer gets its character from the seam that frames the forepart. On this pair, that seam is picked out with lighter stitching, while the vamp stays clear of a penny strap, tassel or metal ornament. The result is a slip-on that shows the leather first: warm cognac oily pull-up leather, a rounded toe and a continuous side profile from the front of the shoe to the heel. Pull-up leather can lighten where it bends as its oils and waxes move, so the colour develops variation rather than staying perfectly uniform. Natural creases and tonal changes are part of that character. The apron stitching and the lighter line around the sole edge give these cognac leather loafers definition without adding contrasting panels or brogue perforations.
Cognac oily pull-up leather · Stitched apron toe · Hand-welted leather sole
These apron-toe loafers sit between a formal lace-up and a more casual slip-on. The leather outsole, layered heel and close sole edge keep the profile suitable for relaxed tailoring, while the warm colour works with navy chinos, stone trousers, linen and dark denim. Hand-welted construction joins the upper through a welt, with the stitching visible around the sole edge; the heel finishes with a dark rubber top piece. Inside, the brown footbed and antibacterial lining complete the pair. Choose them when you want a closed-back leather loafer with more visible leather character than a polished black dress shoe. For fit, pay attention to the hold across the vamp and heel as well as toe room: round-toe loafers still need the correct size and width, and a slip-on has no laces to compensate for excess volume. Each pair is made to order in your selected configuration. Compare the Sizing & Fit guide before choosing, or explore the Loafers & Slip-Ons collection for a strap, tassel or different upper pattern.

Common questions about cognac apron-toe loafers
This is an apron-toe loafer: the stitched seam outlines the forepart. There is no penny strap across the vamp. The uninterrupted upper makes the leather finish and stitching the main details.
Pull-up leather changes tone as its oils and waxes move when the leather bends or is handled. Lighter areas and natural tonal variation are part of its appearance; the finish can develop further with wear.
Try stone or navy chinos, linen trousers or relaxed tailoring. A trouser hem with little excess fabric keeps the low vamp visible. The warm cognac colour works particularly well with blue, cream and earth tones.
Start with both feet’s length and width measurements and compare them with the Handsole Fit Guide. The selector offers US sizes 6–15, including half sizes, and widths D, E, EE and EEE. If you use UK, EU or another sizing system, contact us with your usual size and measurements for guidance before production.
Brush away dust and wipe with a soft dry cloth. Use a conditioner suited to oily pull-up leather sparingly, testing a hidden area first because it may darken the finish. Let damp shoes dry naturally away from heat; avoid prolonged wet wear on the leather sole. See the sole guide for the differences between leather and rubber soles.
Standard made-to-order production takes 7–10 working days before dispatch; shipping time is additional. If there is a fit issue after arrival, contact Handsole within 14 days. If the pair doesn't fit, we remake it free under our Fit Promise.
