What You Can Choose

With custom dress shoes, discuss the fit, appearance and sole you need for the way you will wear the shoes. Available changes depend on the design, materials and construction; we confirm the agreed specification before production.

Size
Send the length and width of both feet alongside your usual shoe size and fit history. We review them together before recommending the configuration.

Width
Standard designs offer D, E, EE and EEE. If you need a fit adjustment beyond those choices, describe where your current shoes feel tight or loose.

Last
The last controls the shoe's toe shape, heel hold, instep volume and overall internal geometry.

Size, width and last shape work together. Share measurements for both feet and any pressure points, heel slip or instep concerns. If you already wear a Handsole pair, include its design and fit; a familiar size alone does not establish the right fit for a different last.

The Questions That Usually Come First.
All Handsole shoes are handcrafted rather than mass-produced. Standard product configurations are made after you order using the color, US size and width choices offered on the product page. Use Custom Made when you need a fit, material, finish or design change beyond those standard options.
Yes, when the requested change is feasible. Size, last, leather, finish and construction changes that are not part of the normal product configuration are reviewed as a Custom Made request before the build is accepted.
A reference image is useful for discussing silhouette, colour and details, but not every design can or should be copied exactly. Send the reference and we will explain what can be adapted using our lasts, patterns, materials and construction methods.
Custom pricing and timing depend on the agreed changes, materials and construction, so we quote after reviewing the request. Standard made-to-order production is generally 7–10 working days before dispatch; custom work may take longer, and shipping is additional time. Include any event date before accepting the order.
