Cognac leather with handwoven side panels · Leather tassels and perforated apron border · Rounded toe
Cognac leather, woven side panels and paired tassels give this backless mule a rich surface and an easy slip-on shape. The centre of the vamp is a warm golden tone, framed by deeper brown burnishing towards the toe and opening. A perforated apron border follows the rounded forepart, separating the smooth central panel from the handwoven leather around it. Dark edging beneath the upper keeps the outline clear, while the open heel completes the relaxed silhouette.
Rounded toe — this shape defines the shoe's toe profile and internal volume. Choose any listed size and width for this design; we make the pair to your selected configuration.
The vamp and woven side panels provide the upper's hold; there is no lace or strap to tighten. A comfortable fit should avoid both excessive sliding and pressure over the foot. Backless shoes feel different from closed loafers, so consider how you intend to wear them and consult the Fit Guide using your foot measurements.

Last & Fit
An open heel with a fixed tassel-loafer vamp
The rounded toe gives the forepart a soft outline, while the mule opening leaves the heel free. Check that your toes have room and that the heel rests completely within the footbed. Do not select a shorter size simply to create a tighter hold across the instep.

This mule combines the decorative language of a tassel loafer with the freedom of an open heel. A smooth central vamp leaves space for the cognac colour and darker burnishing to show, while handwoven panels introduce texture around the forepart and sides.
Tassel Mule · Cognac Burnished Leather · Rounded toe
The perforated apron border connects those two surfaces, giving the rounded toe a defined frame. Tassels add a finishing detail without changing the easy slip-on structure. The design works with warm-weather tailoring and evening separates where a backless shoe can feel relaxed while still having a considered leather upper.

Common questions
Use the size guide for US sizing, width and last guidance. If you are between sizes or unsure about width/last, compare your measurements with the product fit notes or contact Handsole before production. Break-in varies by the specific upper, lining, sole, construction and fit.
If the fit needs attention, contact us under the Fit Promise so we can review the issue and the available remake, adjustment or return option for that order.
Break-in varies by leather, lining, last and fit. A correctly sized pair should feel secure rather than painfully tight; the leather and insole will gradually conform with wear.
Construction details for this product are listed in the Materials & Construction section above. Where the build is resoleable, the upper can be retained while a worn sole is replaced when the pair remains serviceable.
Choose from the widths offered above. If you need unusual forefoot or instep room, have different left/right measurements, or repeatedly struggle with fit, review the Sizing & Fit guide or contact us before production so we can compare the available last/width options or a custom adjustment.
Remove loose dust with a soft brush or clean cloth. Follow the care instructions for the specific leather and finish; suede, patent, patina and two-tone uppers may need different products. Test any suitable cleaner, cream or conditioner on an inconspicuous area first, and use separate clean applicators on contrasting colours. Condition only when the leather and finish need it, rather than on a fixed schedule. Let damp shoes dry naturally away from direct heat. Contact Handsole before attempting recolouring or using a treatment whose compatibility is uncertain.
